Being a teacher, Manisha guides multiple students for competitive exams like the CSIR NET. But, that never dwindled her love for learning more. Her keen interest in data science and machine learning, and the cornucopia of opportunities it holds pushed her to take the Certificate in Data Science Foundation (CDF) program at Accredian.
In this interview, she shares her thoughts about data science, where it’s headed in the future, and her learning experience at Accredian.
Question 1: Which program & batch are you part of at Accredian & tell us more about your current work profile?
Manisha: I am part of the Certificate in Data Science Foundation (CDF) program, August 2020 Batch. My current profile is to teach students who are preparing for CSIR NET exam.
Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?
Manisha: I have been teaching for three years. I wanted to upskill myself. When I came across data science, I instantly got hooked to it. It is such an interesting field of study and is really in demand right now. It has numerous positions in highly paid careers, and involves multiple prestigious and versatile domains.
Question 3: What all tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered in your Data Science & AI program at Accredian so far?
Manisha: I’m from a non-coding background. I have mastered Python along with its packages like NumPy and Pandas. I have gained so much knowledge by practicing them. Right now, I am learning about machine learning foundation.
Question 4: What were some of the initial challenges when you got started on your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?
Manisha: When I got started in my data science journey, my initial challenge was Python programming. But I overcame it by practice.
Question 5: Who is your favorite faculty at Accredian and what did you learn from him the Most?
Manisha: Mr. Sai is my favorite faculty at Accredian. From him I learned how to become an analytical thinker.
Question 6: What is the goal of Data Science?
Manisha: The primary goal of data science is to extract meaningful insights from structured or unstructured data.
Question 7: In your view, how has Data Science evolved in the last few years?
Manisha: The current trends are artificial intelligence, 5g data network, self-driving car, predictive and personalized medicines, blockchain technology, etc. And I’m very much excited about artificial intelligence. It is the most transformative technology of our times.
Most companies have started to explore how they can use artificial intelligence to improve customer experience. And, as the 5g data network offers improved coverage and bandwidth, it can enable machines, robots, or self-driving vehicles to collect and transfer multitudes of data in seconds, that will lead to an advancement in the internet arena.

Manisha: Some of the blogs that I’m following are Springboard and KDnuggets.
Question 9: What is your advice to anyone wanting to start a career in Data Science?
Manisha: If anyone wants to start his/her career in data science, my advice would be that you should be dedicated and focused.
