Top 10 Budding Data Science Leaders Award 2021

Its that time of the year again!

We are excited to announce the Top 10 Budding Data Science Leaders Award for Year 2021.

The Top 10 Data Science Leaders Award is the most prestigious academic award to recognize Accredians who demonstrate highest potential to emerge as successful Data Leaders & AI leaders in India in coming years.

About the Selection Process

In total, 1700 Accredian students across 9 different batches participated for this award. These participants went through 4 major rounds in a two-months-long selection process that involved Technical Data Leader assessment, Accredian Spotlight Interviews, github profile assessment, headshot, culminating in final interview with Suchit Majumdar, Accredian’s Chief Data Scientist & top most faculty.

We’d like to appreciate all Accredian students who participated, and we hope that the participation process itself has been of immense value to you.

Although there were many talented professionals who participated for this award, we are happy to announce ones who made it to the Top 10 Budding Data Science Leader Awards for Year 2021!

Congratulating all the winners, here is everything you need to know about these 10!

1. Yuvraj Pandya

A GCD (Global Certificate in Data Science) candidate, Yuvraj has more than 12 years of experience in the finance sector . An MBA from Narsee Monjee, Yuvraj currently works as AVP at Credit Suisse, one of the most renowned global wealth management companies.

According to our Chief Data Science Faculty, Suchit Majumdar:

The unique element that sets Yuvraj in the path of a data leader is his ability towards learning data science. Yuvraj demonstrates excellent technical clarity and has great communication skills. The way he answered all his questions in the interview is inspiring. We strongly feel that Yuvraj will not only contribute to evolution of finance sector in the digital age but has the vision to apply Data Science & AI to make huge impact in fintech in India

2. Swachhatowa Goswami

Our second winner is Swachhatowa Goswami, a GCDAI (Global Certificate in Data Science & AI) candidate. With 9 years of experience, she is currently working as a Data Analyst at Standard Chartered Research and Technology India.

3. Neha Kaushal

Neha Kaushal is our third winner and GCDAI (Global Certificate in Data Science & AI) candidate at Accredian. With a Master’s from IIT Kharagpur, Neha until recently has worked as an Application Development Engineer at KLA, one of world’s leading semi conductor company.

According to Suchit Majumdar:

What makes Neha stand out is that she is the Youngest among all winners in this year’s rankings. Neha is not only strong in Python & Data Science, but her communication and articulation of how Data Science can be used is among the best. She knows a lot about Data Science applications in unconventional industries like agriculture and food. That makes her a visionary who, through her passion for this field, can make a huge impact in years to come.

4. Arijit Chakrabarti

Out fourth winner is Arijit Chakrabarti who hails from Marketing and Sales domain. He is a a GCDAI (Global Certificate in Data Science & AI) candidate at Accredian and an alum of SIBM Pune. Arijit has 20 years of experience and is currently working as AVP at GroupM, the world’s leading media investment company.

Here’s what Suchit Majumdar has to say about Arijit:

Despite coming from non-programming background, Arijit is passionate about about all things Data Science – including coding in Python, applying Machine Learning to new use cases. Arijit has already developed multiple impressive tools to streamline processes in his current organization. And given that world of advertising is moving radically towards digital space, there is no doubt that Arijit will become a leading voice in the growing ad tech industry in future.

5. Rahul Adwani

Our fifth winner is Rahul Adwani, a GCDAI (Global Certificate in Data Science & AI) candidate. With an MBA from Shailesh J Mehta School of Management (IIT Bombay), Rahul currently works as AVP at Yes Bank in the Business Intelligence and Analytics vertical and has 8 years of experience.

Rahul has a clear understanding of data science and machine learning concepts. Rahul’s experience in analytics, coupled with his fast-growing skills in data science and strong background definitely makes him an excellent candidate to look out for in this field. And, given that he is already in the mid-senior level in BI & Analytics, we firmly believe that Rahul will most likely emerge as a senior leader in Data Science & AI space in India in next 5-7 years .

6. Sohomjit Ganguly

Sohomjit Ganguly is our sixth winner and a GCDAI (Global Certificate in Data Science & AI) candidate. Sohomojit is currently working as a Data Scientist at TCS and has a total work experience of 8 years. What makes Sohomjit stand out is that he was able to transition to the Data Scientist position while being a student at Accredian.

Here’s what Suchit Majumdar has to say about Sohomjit:

Sohomjit is persistence personified. He is someone who doesn’t accept failure and keeps on trying till he wins. And this conviction has not only made Sohomjit improve immensely in data science but has enabled him to transition into Data Scientist role in his current organization, TCS. Given that Sohomjit is now already working as a Data Scientist, we believe that he is already on track to become a Principal Data Scientist in another 4-5 years, leading to a leadership role in Data Science & AI thereafter.

7. Vineeta Nair

Reigning the finance and accounting domain for 17 years, Vineeta Nair is our seventh winner. Vineeta is a GCD (Global Certificate in Data Science) candidate. Vineeta has an MBA in Finance from Southern New Hampshire University and currently works as a Project Manager at DHL Global Forwarding & Freight LLP.

According to Suchit Majumdar:

Vineeta has a very comprehensive approach to data science concepts. Her proficiency in marrying Data Science use cases with business processes combined with her stakeholder management and communication are commendable. She can easily put herself in shoes of her customers which is very important while building data driven products. We foresee Vineeta becoming a role model to many women professionals who want to emerge as senior leaders in data driven companies.

8. Aditi Goyal

Our eighth winner, Aditi Goyal, is a CDF (Certificate in Data Science Foundation) candidate and among the youngest winners. In fact, she is the fourth female winner in this year’s list. With over 7 years of experience, Aditi is currently working as SAP Consultant at Capgemini.

Aditi has been a really diligent student. She has great communication skills and clarity of thought. With her experience of having worked in top companies like IBM, PwC and Capgemini combined with her passion for Data science, Aditi has huge opportunity ahead of her of becoming one of the Youngest Women leaders in Data Science & AI space in India.

9. Sudeep Mohan

An MBA from IIM Indore, Sudeep Mohan is our ninth winner. A GCDAI (Global Certificate in Data Science & AI) candidate at Accredian, Sudeep has a total work experience of 10 years and is currently working as a Senior Consultant at PwC.

According to Suchit Majumdar:

I was very impressed with Sudeep’s hold on Data science, especially in the business application of Data Science. Identifying business problems and devising solutions already comes naturally to him. Considering that Sudeep comes from high pedigree background of an MBA from IIM, combined with his skills in Data Science, we feel Sudeep has the potential to become Chief Digital Officer or Head of consulting in Data Science & AI for one of top consulting companies in next 5-7 years.

10. Chiranjit Pathak

Chiranjit Pathak is our tenth winner and GCDAI (Global Certificate in Data Science & AI) candidate at Accredian. An alumnus of Jadavpur University, Chiranjit currently works as a Process engineer at Voith Paper Technology India and has a total of 10 years work experience.
