Accredian’s Spotlight Series: In conversation with Neha Gupta

Welcome to the Accredian spotlight series! In this edition, we bring you the story of Neha Gupta, who started her journey with Accredian in July 2022. Neha is in the midst of a career transition phase and has chosen the Global Certificate in Data Science (GCD) program to help her reach her goals.

Currently, Neha is pursuing the Data Analysis and Machine Learning course with Accredian. Her primary objective is to gain a solid understanding of basic data analysis and machine learning concepts and to enhance her skills in these areas. 

Question 1: Which program and batch are you part of at Accredian and tell us more about your current work profile.

Neha: I started my journey with Accredian in the month of July 2022. I have chosen the GCD program as I am in a career transition phase.

Currently, I am pursuing my Data Analysis and Machine Learning course with Accredian to understand the concepts of basic data analysis and machine learning and to enhance my skills.

Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning.

Neha: Although I began my career as a pre-primary facilitator out of personal responsibility, my true passion lies in the technical field. I have always been eager to learn and broaden my horizons.

As such, I have enrolled in a Data science course to enhance my knowledge and skills in this area, and pursue a career in my desired field.

Question 3: What all tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered in your Data Science & AI program at Accredian so far?

Neha: I have completed the basics of Data Analysis and familiarized myself with the five fundamental statistical concepts in Python. Additionally, I have gained an understanding of Exploratory Data Analysis techniques, including the methods of Data Visualization using Matplotlib and Seaborn.

Furthermore, I have been introduced to the art of Data Storytelling, which is a crucial aspect of Data Science. This skill allows me to present my findings and insights from data analysis in a compelling and concise manner, enabling others to understand complex information and make informed decisions.

Question 4: What are some of initial challenges when you got started on your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?

Neha: Data science is an absolutely new field for me, and I have no prior knowledge of it. Data science is implemented with software tools and packages, of which I have no knowledge or skills.

However, life is full of challenges, and I have structured my learning path in such a way that I attend classes regularly, read all the modules, and practice offline to enhance my skills and increase my knowledge.

Question 5: What is the goal of Data Science?

Neha: The objective of data science is to explore, sort, and analyze large datasets from various sources to take advantage of them and reach conclusions with insights to optimize business processes or provide further decision support.

Question 6: In your view, how has Data Science evolved in last few years?

Neha: The term Data Science has evolved over the years, and its popularity has increased considerably due to innovation in data collection technology worldwide. Initially, Data Science started in statistics, and with the evolution of technology, it included concepts such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.

Gradually, businesses started seeing new ways of increasing profits and making better decisions, and as a result, data science expanded to other fields such as mirrors, medicines, engineering, automobiles, and more.

Question 7: What are the current trends in Data Science that you are most excited about?

Neha: Data science is the fastest-growing area within the technology industry. It is changing the way we approach data and analytics both in the workplace and in our day-to-day lives. Auto machine learning and artificial intelligence are the latest trends we can see in data science. We can build models to address real-world issues by leveraging automation.

The growth of predictive analytics is also trending, which allows for predicting future trends and forecasts. With this, any organization can make insightful decisions that will help them grow.
