In this Accredian Spotlight interview, we feature –Harsh Saurav, an aspiring Data Scientist.
Question 1: Which program and batch are you part of at Accredian ? Tell us more about your current work profile.
Harsh: I am a student of the April Batch of the Global Certificate in Data Science Program at Accredian. I am a recent graduate looking for work in the field of Data Science.
Question 2: Walk us through your career journey and what got you interested in Data Science and Machine Learning.
Harsh: I am from Bihar; as of now, I am staying in Delhi, and I have done my B.Tech from Techno India College in Mechanical Engineering. I am currently enrolled in an Accredian Data Science course and looking for new opportunities in data science.
Apart from that, I am passionate about cricket and love to explore sports stuff. Data science and machine learning are problem-solving and exploration fields. I like the analytical research part that comes automatically with it.
Question 3: What Data Science and Machine Learning tools and packages have you mastered so far in your Data Science and AI program at Accredian?
Harsh: While working on Data Science and Machine Learning projects, I used tools like NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, and Jupiter Notebook. But I still need to start working on the AI program.
Question 4: What are some of the initial challenges you faced when you started your data science journey, and how did you overcome them?
Harsh: I come from a non-IT background. So coding was the main impediment in my transition or learning journey. But I learned from Accredian, read numerous blogs, and worked on it. And now I am comfortable, love coding, and am improving myself as a better data science expert.
Question 5: What is the goal of Data Science?
Harsh: Data science is a powerful method of transforming business data into valuable assets that can aid organizations in improving revenue, reducing costs, seizing business opportunities, enhancing customer experience, developing new products, and more.
Question 6: What are the current trends in Data Science that you are most excited about?
Harsh: Data science and machine learning are both rapidly emerging fields that are currently experiencing a boom. These technologies have become increasingly attractive, with a growing interest in cloud-based solutions and the development of top-tier cloud-native teams. Additionally, there is a rising demand for services that provide augmented consumer interfaces.
Question 7: Which are some of the blogs that you follow?
Harsh: For the most part, I use Medium to learn from blogs and search for stock information. Through this platform, I have come across insightful articles such as “How to Learn Data Science as a Beginner“, which provided valuable guidance. Additionally, “10 News Websites for Your Data Analytics Journey” proved to be a hidden gem, offering an abundance of helpful resources. Finally, “Essential Math for Data Science” taught me critical mathematical concepts that are essential for understanding data trends.
