In conversation with Archit Jain I Accredian Spotlight

In this Accredian Spotlight interview, we feature Archit Jain, an Engineer in making whose quest for knowledge and passion for learning Data Science led him to enroll in the Global Certificate in Data Science Program at Accredian.

Question 1: Which program & batch are you part of at Accredian & tell us more about your current work profile?

Archit: I am pursuing B Tech in Information Technology at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology and will graduate in 2022. I’m a part of the GCD program, January Cohort.

Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?

Archit: In the initial phase of lockdown I realized that I was enjoying working in the field of Data Science and wanted to explore various opportunities as much as possible in this area. In fact, As I wanted to gather a lot of information and be suitably skilled for my future. So, it led to me joining a course at Accredian.

Question 3: What tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered at Accredian so far?

Archit: I have mastered Python, Pandas, Matplotlib and Sci-kit. Apart from this, I have also improved my skills in advanced MS Excel, Tableau and Statistics for Data Analysis. I am yet to explore SAS and Power BI.

Question 4: What challenges did you face when you started your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?

Archit: Strong basics in Data Science and a desire to learn more motivated me to join Accredian, where live classes helped me clear my doubts. Another challenge that I faced was the inability to retain what I learned in the class. So to overcome that I started practicing, revising my notes, and following the live recorded sessions after classes as well.

Question 5: Who is your favorite faculty at Accredian and what did you learn from them?

Archit: My favorite faculty is Suchit sir as he is my mentor. He is very interactive in the classes and his way of teaching is also very invigorating and motivating. He always starts the class with a quiz on the topic taught in the previous class. This helps get further clarity of the concept. Even the Q&A sessions have been really helpful.

Question 6: What is the goal of Data Science?

Archit: The goal of Data Science is to understand and present data in order to predict future trends which further help in making business decisions.

Data Science helps in converting raw data into useful information or insights, which ultimately help businesses to grow

Question 7: How has Data Science evolved over the last few years?

Archit: At this moment, Data Science is at its peak, the hottest job of the 21st century. Earlier having automatic cars was just a dream and now they are being manufactured by Tesla. This is the power of Artificial Intelligence. I’d say Data Science & AI is the present and future of Technology.

Question 8: What current trends in Data Science you are most excited about?

Archit: I’m excited about NLP, Cloud Computing and AI automation. Cloud computing offers the ability for Data Scientists to access virtually limitless processing power and storage capacity. With the fast-paced development of AI technology and capability, the amount of usable and transferable data has increased exponentially, which has helped increase AI automation as well.

Question 9: Which Data Science blogs do you follow?

Archit: I follow Analytics Vidhya, Medium, and Towards Data Science as these blogs have a lot of articles on every topic for learning.

Question 10: What advice would you give to a beginner in Data Science?

Archit: My advice would be to start a course at Accredian which would help in learning and expanding both theoretical and practical knowledge. The faculty at Accredian is excellent.
