Question 1: Which program & batch are you a part of at Accredian & tell us more about your current work profile?

Sajit: I’m a part of the Global certificate in Data Science and AI program June 2021 cohort. I’m currently working as a Systems engineer & a Developer in TCS.

Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?

Sajit: I started my career journey soon after graduation. I have a total work experience of five years. During my journey, I got the opportunity to work on various projects at TCS which got me interested in Data Science, and eventually I decided to take up a course at Accredian.

Question 3: What tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered at Accredian so far?

Sajit: I’m aware of some of the basic technologies that every Data Scientist must know like Python, NumPy, and Pandas. I’m currently trying my hands on Jupyter Notebook. I’d consider myself to be a beginner and have a long way to go.

Question 4: What challenges did you face when you started your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?

Sajit: When I started my Data Science journey at Accredian, my initial challenge was appropriate time management however as the classes were on weekends, I was able to go through recordings and practice the concepts discussed in classes.

Question 5: Who is your favorite faculty at Accredian and what did you learn from them?

Sajit: Everyone has their own unique way of teaching methodology and knowledge. But I feel Deepesh is an outstanding teacher. The way he explains concepts of Data Science and relates the examples to the real world is amazing. Plus, his simple traditional way of teaching with pen and paper helps me memorize better.

This is how the e-commerce platforms are generating income using Data Science.

It is said that 35% of the Amazon income is generated from the recommendation system engine, which is the magic of Data Science and Machine learning.

Question 8: What current trends in Data Science are you most excited about?

Sajit: Recently, I came across an amazing Cadbury advertisement wherein they used Machine Learning to recreate Shahrukh Khan’s face and voice. This particular trend really fascinated me.

Question 9: Which Data Science blogs do you follow?

Sajit: I follow Analytics Vidhya, Towards Data Science and Medium. These blogs have a lot of articles on every topic which are helpful in understanding Data Science trends. I also take help from YouTube videos and tutorials.

Question 10: What advice would you give to a beginner in Data Science?

Sajit: Data Science is evolving very rapidly so, I would like to say that every beginner should develop an interest in this field. Also, hands-on experience with data sets can enhance the overall learning curve.
