In this Accredian Spotlight interview, we feature Bhupesh Singh Mahara, a leading Software Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services. His insatiable quest for knowledge and upskilling led him to enroll in the Global Certificate in Data Science program at Accredian.
Question 1: Which program & batch are you a part of at Accredian & tell us more about your current work profile?
Bhupesh: I’m a part of the Global Certificate in Data Science program July 2021 batch. I’ve been working with Tata Consultancy Services for more than three years now.
Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?
Bhupesh: I’ve transitioned from System Administrator to Software Engineer in my career journey. During my tenure, I got interested in the field of Data Science and various concepts like Data analysis, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and many more. Hence, I decided to take up a course at Accredian.
Question 3: What tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered at Accredian so far?
Bhupesh: I’ve learned concepts of Python, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and EDA. I’ve also gathered knowledge of basic concepts of Statistics and Probability.
Question 4: What challenges did you face when you started your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?
Bhupesh: Data Science is a vast field. Initially, I was very confused with all the fields as they all seemed alike. Later, I saw Accredian’s LinkedIn post, where the Accredian team was organizing a two days session for interested professionals to get clarity on various Data Science career options. I attended the session and it cleared all my confusion.
Question 5: Who is your favorite faculty at Accredian and what did you learn from them?
Bhupesh: All the faculty members at Accredian have excellent teaching and mentoring skills. I have not compared anyone as all of them have their own unique method to explain and dive deep into the topics.
Question 6: What is the goal of Data Science?
Bhupesh: The principal purpose of Data Science is to find patterns within data by using various Statistical techniques, to analyze and draw insights from the data which helps in predicting future and taking actions according to the meaningful Insights derived.
Question 7: Which Data Science blogs do you follow?
Bhupesh: I follow Kaggle, KD Nuggets, Medium, and Analytics Vidhya.
