Wanting to know more about data science and machine learning applications in the real world and create his own data science career, BTech graduate from NIT, Errol Calon Lobo enrolled for the Global Certificate in Data Science & AI (GCDAI) program at Accredian.
Question 1: Which program & batch are you part of at Accredian & tell us more about your current work profile?
Errol: I am part of the Global Certificate in Data Science & AI (GCDAI) program, August 2020. I am a BTech graduate in Electronics and Communication from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka.
Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?
Errol: Currently I am not working anywhere. I am interested in the concepts of data science and machine learning not just from building a data science career standpoint but also as something to study and learn.
Question 3: What all tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered in your Data Science & AI program at Accredian so far?
Errol: I have learned Python and Jupyter Notebook.
Question 4: What were some of the initial challenges when you got started on your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?
Errol: Accommodating the online classes in my schedule and finding time to study was a bit challenging for me initially. But I got used to it with practice.
Question 5: Who is your favorite faculty at Accredian and what did you learn from him the Most?
Errol: Suchit was good, especially in explaining the real world applications of data science and machine learning.
Question 6: What is the goal of Data Science?
Errol: The goal of data science is to extract data for practical applications.
Question 7: In your view, how has Data Science evolved in the last few years?
Errol: I’m interested in how data science will change the news industry and the role of journalists in disseminating information.
Question 8: What are the current trends in Data Science that you are most excited about?
Errol: I don’t know much about the topic to answer the question though I have noticed that a lot of companies are trying to implement its techniques for improving their products and services.
Question 9: Which are some of the blogs that you follow?
Errol: I follow some YouTube and Reddit channels mostly.
