An expert in corporate and media communications, Nabeel CT wanted to upskill and grow beyond his comfort zone. And, data science was something completely new that he wanted to try. So, to explore the uncharted waters of data science, he took the plunge and enrolled for data science and python online course of the Global Certificate in Data Science (GCD) program at Accredian.
In this interview, let’s check out what he has to say about data science and how his learning experience has been at Accredian.
Question 1: Which program & batch are you part of at Accredian & tell us more about your current work profile?
Nabeel: I am part of the data science and python online course of Global Certificate in Data Science (GCD) program, June cohort. My current work profile is Manager Corporate Communications with Doha Brokerage & Financial Services Limited.
Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?
Nabeel: I completed my graduation from Srinivasan engineering college, Tamil Nadu. I have done my post graduation MBA in both marketing and HR. After my studies, I worked for one of the media houses in South India as assistant manager advertisement and business development officer.
Later, I associated with the newspaper based out of Sharjah in the capacity of advertisement supervisor. I also worked with sequence communications to direct advertising PR companies based in Mumbai as the branch head and assistant manager media.
Presently, I am working with Doha Brokerage & Financial Services Limited. I have more than six years of experience in press coordination, preparation of press releases and materials, media negotiation, advertisement, early relations, digital media management, etc.
Question 3: What all tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered in your Data Science & AI program at Accredian so far?
Nabeel: In the data science and python online course of GCDAI, I have mastered the one major programming tool of Python and its several packages.
Question 4: What are some of the initial challenges when you got started on your Data Science journey, and how did you overcome it?
Nabeel: Since I am not coming from a computer science background, it was challenging to overcome the programming part in this data science and python online course. But now, I think I have overcome that challenge.
Question 5: Who is your favorite faculty at Accredian and what did you learn from him the Most?
Nabeel: Every faculty is good, but I think Mr. Suchit Majumdar gives more insights about data science.
Question 6: What is the goal of Data Science?
Nabeel: The main goal of Data Science is to reduce the complexity of multiple processes.
Question 7: What is your advice to anyone wanting to start a career in Data Science?
Nabeel: My advice to all who are starting their data science career is to understand the logic behind the programming codes to understand it better.
