In this Accredian Spotlight interview, we feature Mahesh Ghadge, Software Engineer, NEC Software Solutions. His fascination for continuous learning and evolution in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence led him to enroll in the PGP in Data Science & AI program at Accredian.
Question 1: Which program & batch are you a part of at Accredian & tell us more about your current work profile?
Mahesh: I’m a part of the PGP in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence program March 2021 cohort. I’m currently working as a Tech lead, handling a team and coding on a day-to-day basis. I enjoy working with Data and the field of Data Science fascinates me.
Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?
Mahesh: I transitioned from Teaching to a Developer role and now a Technical lead. My passion for learning new concepts and working in the field of Data science motivated me to join a program at Accredian.
Question 3: What tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered at Accredian so far?
Mahesh: I have learned Python and various packages like Pandas, NumPy, Sci-kit. I now have gathered good knowledge of EDS as well. As far as Machine Learning is concerned, I’m comfortable with Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, and Decision Trees. I’m excited to explore other tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
Question 4: What challenges did you face when you started your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?
Mahesh: My biggest challenge was that I couldn’t memorize the concepts well so I decided to practice and deliver my best during the course. I referred to Accredian’s recorded sessions and resources as well.
Question 5: Who is your favorite faculty at Accredian and what did you learn from them?
Mahesh: I loved attending Suchit’s classes. His explanation of concepts with varied examples is simple and amazing.
Question 6: What is the goal of Data Science?
Mahesh: The goal of Data Science is to analyze Data and offer meaningful Insights for the existing business to find new business opportunities for growth.
Question 7: How has Data Science evolved in the last few years?
Mahesh: We are using technologies equipped with Data Science and AI applications every day. It is amazing how we get recommendations based on these applications. It’s impossible to imagine the day-to-day activities and actions without any intervention of Data Science & AI.
Question 8: What current trends in Data Science are you most excited about?
Mahesh: I’m very excited about the recommendations suggested on social media or eCommerce platforms like Facebook and Flipkart. The new concepts of Automation across Industry is a big leap in this field.
Question 9: Which Data Science blogs do you follow?
Mahesh: I follow Analytics Vidhya, Medium, and Towards Data Science. I go through the Accredian YouTube channel as well.
Question 10: What advice would you give to a beginner in Data Science?
Mahesh: As the application of Data Science is evident in every field so, I would like to advise everyone to start gathering enough knowledge of various concepts of Data Science and follow Accredian content and resources for building a brighter future.
