Meet Sonali Baheti From Zensar Technologies I Accredian Spotlight

Working with data and data processing through her career, Sonali Bahehi’s curiosity for data science and machine learning technologies exalted. Wanting to learn more and sharpen her skills in data science, she enrolled for the Certificate in Data Science Foundation (CDF) program at Accredian.

In this interview, let’s what interests her the most about data science and how her learning experience has been at Accredian.

Question 1: Which program & batch are you part of at Accredian & tell us more about your current work profile?

Sonali: I am part of the Certificate in Data Science Foundation program, May 2020 batch. I am currently working as Senior Test Lead in Zensar Technologies.

Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?

Sonali: I started my career in 2016 as a QA in Sapient. And I’ve good values with a CPA as a career lead. As a good tester, we know how to do data testing. We are processing the data required for the specific scenario testing.

We collect data in such a way that those data will be useful for the particular functionality. We perform this data processing for several reasons and scenarios, and give the processed data to the client for UI testing based on these scenarios. The data is then deplored as per the business plan and strategies.

I want to start a career in data science and machine learning as I am keenly interested in the latest technologies in this field.

Question 3: What all tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered in your Data Science & AI program at Accredian so far?

Sonali: I have worked on Anaconda Navigator which is used for Jupyter Notebook for Python programming. I have also learned the several important packages of Python like NumPy and Pandas. Apart from that I have also tried my hands in Matplotlib sequences used for different plots of graphs and Seaborn which offers functionality information while writing a patent in data science.

Question 4: What were some of the initial challenges when you got started on your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?

Sonali: Statistics is challenging for me. I got to learn about basic statistics during the CDF program. Python was not that difficult as I have done some coding earlier as well. And, although it is a new language, the logic and concept are the same as the other languages.

Question 5: Who is your favorite faculty at Accredian and what did you learn from him the Most?

Sonali: Since each faculty is expert in their area, I would definitely like to take the name of Suchit.  He taught in a simple language, starting with the real life industry examples and some of the basic knowledge required for the machine learning language.

Question 6: What is the goal of Data Science?

Sonali: The data science goal is to construct the means to extract business-focused insights from data. This requires understanding how value and information flow in a business and its ability to identify business opportunities.

Question 7: In your view, how has Data Science evolved in the last few years?

Sonali: Every big brand in industries from e-commerce to social media are using data science to run their businesses. Now, every small, medium and large scale company requires data to improve or grow the business worldwide.

Question 8: What are the current trends in Data Science that you are most excited about?

Sonali: I am excited about regression analysis of data in the form of graphs that helps us resolve and answer the business issue. The cloud is also a container.  Now the data is stored directly in a cloud and most of the social media or e-commerce platforms have their own cloud systems for storing that data.

Question 9: What is your advice to anyone wanting to start a career in Data Science?

Sonali: Any person who wants to start a career in data science must understand the purposes and vision before learning data science. As we know, our business improves or grows based on the data they are getting, so we should understand the process that goes into it and how data helps to grow a business.

This was a conversation with one of our CDF students – Sonali Baheti.
