Shubham Grover is a Technology Analyst at Infosys. Unlike most who pursue a subject to upskill, Shubham, just for his love for data science and technological innovations, enrolled for the Global Certificate in Data Science (GCD) program at Accredian for the perfect data science training.
In this interview, let’s take a look at his opinion on the impact of data science on other technologies and get to know how his experience has been at Accredian.
Question 1: Which program & batch are you part of at Accredian & tell us more about your current work profile?
Shubham: I am part of the Global Certificate in Data Science (GCD) program), May 2020 batch. Currently, I am working as a technology analyst in Infosys. I am involved in client communication, end-to-end testing, and taking care of automation.
Question 2: Walk us through your career journey & what got you interested in Data Science & Machine Learning?
Shubham: The main reason to go for a formal data science training is that I enjoy seeing all the innovations and new technologies and innovations be it Alexa, automated cars, and other new technologies around the world. So just want to explore the cause and the reason behind all these, how they are working, what is the main idea behind this and what can be done more towards this field. So I decided to move into data science.
Question 3: What all tools and packages in Data Science & Machine Learning have you mastered in your Data Science & AI program at Accredian so far?
Shubham: So far we have learned many libraries like NumPy, Pandas Matplotlib, etc.
Question 4: What were some of the initial challenges when you got started on your Data Science journey and how did you overcome it?
Shubham: During the data science training at Accredian, I was worried whether it was the right move to enter a completely new domain and what new challenges would there be in this journey. But, now, I am happy I took this decision and joined Accredian.
Question 5: Who is your favorite faculty at Accredian and what did you learn from him the Most?
Shubham: All the faculties at Accredian are awesome. But the best is Suchit. He teaches and asks anybody to come on air mid-way through class and it is the best thing as it allows us clear our doubts and makes us confident in front of a larger audience. The depth of clarity and the examples he gives is so real that it is not difficult for us to understand various concepts and topics at all.
Question 6: What is the goal of Data Science?
Shubham: The goal of data science is to work for a better world with lesser human intervention and more computer integration. With each passing day, the volume of data is increasing. And it is impossible for human beings to filter that data and get past all of it. So the ultimate goal of data science is to use the available data to create a better world.
Question 9: Which are some of the blogs that you follow?
Shubham: The blogs that I have found to be most helpful in this journey are Data Science Central, SmartData Collective, What’s Big Data, Kaggle, insideBigData, and GitHub.
Question 10: What is your advice to anyone wanting to start a career in Data Science?
Shubham: The advice that I would like to give to all data science enthusiasts is just take the first step without thinking of any pros and cons. With time you will get better. So the best thing to do is just be a part of this beautiful journey of data science training without thinking of anything positive or negative.
